Nothing But a Nigger
I was born brown into Babylon slavery.
Fresh of this banana boat,
Never assimilated to white society.
Guess I’m nothing but a nigger.
I was born with black skin
With no one else to call my kin
Except my fellow kin
With black skin.
Guess I’m nothing but a nigger.
I was born yellow like cake.
And now I can never feel mellow.
Because I’m nothing but a slave fellow
To bake like a cake in these
Hot slavery fields.
Guess I’m nothing but a nigger.
I’m just a nigger.
And their ego is only getting bigger
While our condition is only getting sicker.
And I can’t do anything about it
Because,
I’m nothing but a nigger.
Well, here I am again. I have no released poetry for almost a month now and people have been asking what's going on. I have had a lot of writer's block and reached so many road block mentally. I decided to release something that I have been waiting to get out to the public. I want to start a blog to release my works but I could not wait any longer. I had to release something, I felt like I was losing my mind.
ReplyDeleteI wrote this because racism still exists today, more than you could imagine. This piece is a reflection of it. The words I used in this poem, I thought would be most fitting. If your offended, I'm sorry. As always, please input your thoughts. If your on FB, gimme your opinions on my wall.. God Bless.
